This experience combines a guided visit to the local Emiliano Zapata Market with a hands-on cooking class at Gaby’s Restaurant, a historic family-owned restaurant in downtown Vallarta. Guests learn authentic coastal recipes using fresh ingredients from the market while discovering the history, culture, and culinary traditions of Mexico. More than a cooking class, it is a cultural and gastronomic experience.

What To Expect
Join Chef Julio Castillón, a professional chef and certified Mexican tour guide, for a hands-on Seafood Lovers cooking experience in Puerto Vallarta.
Begin at Gaby’s Restaurant in the Historic Downtown, then walk to the traditional Emiliano Zapata Market to discover fresh seafood, local ingredients, Mexican chiles and regional flavors while learning about Puerto Vallarta’s coastal cuisine.
After selecting the ingredients, relax on an air-conditioned van ride back to Gaby’s Restaurant, where the cooking experience continues on our rooftop terrace overlooking the heart of Puerto Vallarta.
Learn to prepare authentic Mexican seafood dishes such as Gaby’s Taco Gobernador, Puerto Vallarta-style ceviche tostadas, zarandeado fish, fresh salsas and other seafood specialties using traditional techniques.
Chef Julio will guide you step by step while sharing stories about Mexican gastronomy, local ingredients and Puerto Vallarta’s culinary traditions.
At the end of the class, sit down together and enjoy the delicious meal you prepared, followed by a traditional raicilla tasting, featuring one of Jalisco’s most distinctive agave spirits.
