We want people realize there is no need to take Dolphins freedom away to interact with them. The whole trip experience is about we, the humans, adapting ourselves to nature.

Traveling along with The Dolphin Pod using the Paddle Boards is simply amazing, the connection created with them makes you feel a sense of freedom never experienced before.
We will Be able to really understand their behavior:
1. When finding a Pod, we will realize there are several sub group members of the same pod but distributed in a radio area of more than 300 meters. At certain direction we can see The juveniles breaching out of the water, in another, mothers and calfs swimming togueter and finally, the Alfa Dolphins which take care of the Pod are observing us making sure we are not a threat for the Pod.
2. Protective Behavior of Dolphins with New born baby Whales
Is very common to find groups of dolphins floating nearby Humpbach whale and its calves.

What To Expect
Wild Dolphin encounters in freedom is the right way to understand their behavior and needs. Our Marine Life specialist will share with you and your guests their knowledge about dolphin amazing communication skills, intelligence and behavior, so that we learn the right way to interact with them.
We will navigate in direction to the areas they feed themselves, near the river mouths. Once we find a group of dolphins we will identify the pods showing more interest in us so we can have our chance to interact with them.
Our Team have created 3 Different Ways of Interaction with Dolphins:
1. Paddle Boards: Best way for a respectfully initial approach to pods. They feel comfortable and curious about guests at Paddle Boards near to them.
2. Snorqueling gear: Dolphins normally start swimming arround and under the Paddle Boards over and over, which give us our chance to take a swim among them.
3. Towable Boards: When Dolphins pods swim in a certain direction, we use the Towable Boards for our guests to glide over the water close to the dolphins.
Important fact for a great interaction with Dolphins:
They can hear us, so when we whistle or cheer to them, they feel attracted.

Yes, we allow pregnant women to go on snorkeling. However, it’s crucial to consult with your healthcare provider before doing so to assess your individual health and pregnancy stage.
Jan 2022Yes, this is possible, as long as you are comfortable going into the water. All Cool Puerto Vallarta snorkeling tours adhere to strict safety regulations and have been designed to be enjoyed by all.
Your safety is our #1 priority, which is why:
- You will be wearing a flotation device at all times.
- On many tours, there is a stairway from the boat into the water so you won’t have to “jump” in!
- There are trained staff in the water and watching from the boat at all times.
For these reasons, we believe that even non-swimmers can have a wonderful time on our snorkeling trips, however, the final judgment call is yours to make. Please note we do not give refunds if you decide not to snorkel on the trip.
Oct 2021The snorkel gear we use on Cool Puerto Vallarta tours is high quality and for your protection, the equipment is sanitized after each use. However, if you feel more comfortable using your own snorkeling equipment, feel free to bring it on the tour. Please note, there is no discount for providing your own equipment and we can’t be responsible for any lost or damaged items.
May 2023As an active member of the Dolphin SMART program, we do not have physical contact with the dolphins on Swim and Paddle Board with Wild Dolphin Pods in Puerto Vallarta. We watch them in their natural habitat from the boat.

Oct 2021There are no legal age limits for snorkeling. We have found that age 5 or 6 is a good age to learn the basics of snorkeling, however, it’s entirely up to individuals to make the best choice for their family.
Sep 2021If you have any doubts about becoming seasick on the water, we recommend taking a Dramamine® Motion Sickness Relief tablet the night before your trip. Some people recommend taking it the night before your cruise and then again that morning so you will not feel so drowsy.
