We had an absolutely wonderful experience! Our guide, Pablo, and our boat captain, Ricardo, were both excellent. They were incredibly knowledgeable about the area and shared so much interesting information about the wildlife, birds, plants, and everything we were seeing along the way. From beginning to end, they made us feel like we were their number one priority.I was personally pretty nervous about getting into the water. I’m not someone who typically goes very far into water when I can’t see the bottom and add nighttime AND a cave to that, and I was definitely a little freaked out! 😂Pablo was incredibly patient, encouraging, and reassuring. He told me he would stay right beside me, and he absolutely did. I never felt pressured, and once I decided to get in, he made sure I felt safe the entire time. He was also constantly looking out for everyone else in our group while we were in the water. Because of his encouragement, I was able to experience something I probably would not have done otherwise and I’m so glad I did! It was such a cool experience, and everyone had an amazing time.Pablo’s care didn’t end when the tour was over either. He made sure arrangements were taken care of for each couple in our group and that everyone had a safe way to get back to their hotel.We highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting the area. If you have the opportunity, definitely ask for Pablo! He truly went above and beyond to make the entire experience safe, fun, informative, and memorable. And a huge thank you to Ricardo as well for taking such great care of us on the boat!

If you are visiting Puerto Vallarta, booking this tour with Alex is an absolute MUST! From start to finish, the entire day was pure perfection. Alex is a wonderful guide—warm, super friendly, extremely knowledgeable, and simply great company to be around. He makes everyone feel welcome and comfortable right from the moment you meet. The itinerary itself is balanced so well: you get a fun hike through beautiful scenery, plenty of time to relax and swim, and fantastic spots for snorkeling (Playa Majahuitas and Quimixto are just breathtaking!). Alex knows all the best local details, facts, and hidden spots, which makes the whole experience feel personal and unique rather than just another commercial tour. Our tour was a really special experience! We went to a macaw sanctuary and learned about conservation efforts to protect and re-populate the indigenous macaw population. We saw a total of anout 30-35 nesting birds, in pairs and family units. It was inspiring to say the least! After the macaws, we had an amazing breakfast at a tiny restaurant where we were treated like family. After breakfast we hiked a trail up along a small river. At the top we found a beautiful waterfall and lagoon, where we swam for an hour or so in the crisp clear river water. It was so refreshing! During the entire half day together, Curiel was a constant source of happy banter, interesting information about the local environment and people. Being a local, or “Pata Salada” he certainly knows his way around. I highly recommend his tours!

We did the Taco Tour with Puerto Vallarta Discovery Tours this morning, and it was hands down one of the best experiences we’ve ever had! Our tour guide, Heidy, was absolutely amazing. She shared so much local history and culture, making every stop even more meaningful.The tacos were the best we’ve ever had, and the surprise treats along the way made it even better—homemade popsicles, fresh churros, and, of course, some tequila! Every stop felt authentic and gave us a true taste of Puerto Vallarta.If you’re visiting Puerto Vallarta, this tour is a must-do. It’s the perfect mix of incredible food, local culture, and fun. We would absolutely do it again and can’t recommend Heidy and Puerto Vallarta Discovery Tours enough!

isaac was amazing as a tour guide! very relaxed but had a lot of knowledge and everything was perfect, on time and easy. it was so cool to see the local town and the hike to the waterfall was fun but definitely a few steep uphills (nothing crazy). the waterfall was great we had drinks and swam and then had a great beach lunch. recommend 100%. this was our second time doing this tour and this one was by far our favorite!!!

Our group of 8 had the pleasure of having Eric as our tour guide for our taco tour in Puerto Vallarta and nearby areas. Eric readily shared his extensive knowledge of Mexican food, culture and history while we enjoyed the various types of tacos, including Birria, seafood, Barbacoa and carnitas (my favorite). He has a great personality with a sense of humor and was very accommodating with our group that included some seniors that needed extra assistance. His van was comfortable and well maintained. We hope to take another Discovery tour next week and will definitely ask for Eric.

Travel from the heart of Puerta Vallarta into the nearby hills, following the coastal road as you make your way to the Puerta Vallarta Botanical Gardens...a must see! the gardens are incredible with so much to see. Our host Jimmy was wonderful, knowledgeable and made our time in the gardens very enjoyable. While at the gardens I highly recommend that you end your visit with lunch and a cold drink at the Hacienda de Oro Restaurant & Bar on the grounds of the gardens...the food was absolutely amazing...ask for a table on the patio overlooking the river valley and surrounding mountains. The food was was wonderful, the maragrita of the day was one of a kind and the coconut cake is the best I have every had!

We had the best time on this excursion, even though we started late in the day because our flight didn’t come in till late afternoon, our guide, Alexis, made sure that we got to see the botanical gardens (that I really wanted to see) and also that we made the most of our one day (we were here for a wedding and our trip was really laid out for us) where we got to explore Puerto Vallarta. Doing the private tour was honestly the best because we got to pack in so much to make that time so worth it.

This is one of the best tours we have been on! Our tour guide “Danny” was amazing! He was informative, yet fun and kept the tour going at a good pace. He was receptive to our needs and formed the tour around our wishes! We saw 6 different seaside towns and heard the history and interesting details about each one. Don’t miss this opportunity to see the real traditional Mexico, you won’t regret a minute. Great English speaking and good communication :) We had a fun lunch stop in Sayulita. We did this hike on El Polvorín with our family of five (two adults and three kids), and it was easily one of the highlights of our trip to Puerto Vallarta.We started the tour at the Botanical Gardens, which were absolutely beautiful. The setting alone is worth the visit—lush, peaceful, and full of incredible plant life. We visited the church and then hiked down to the river, which was a great way to kick things off. As we walked through the gardens, we even spotted a peacock and other wildlife, which the kids loved.Next, we stopped at Chico’s Paradise for a snack, and this was such a fun experience. Watching the cliff jumpers was amazing—they were doing some seriously impressive jumps, and it added a lot of excitement to the stop.From there, we continued on to El Polvorín, where the real adventure began. After a short hike, we got to spend time cliff jumping, and this was the absolute highlight for our kids. They had an incredible time and didn’t want to leave.We wrapped up the tour with a swim out to the waterfalls, which was the perfect ending to an already amazing day.If you’re looking for a fun, active, and memorable experience for the whole family, this is it. Highly recommend!

Had a great time with our host Dbay (AKA Danny Boy), our own private driver and guide. All the stops were fun, we learned some stuff, saw some amazing beaches, some off the tourist grid coves and beaches, had a very nice lunch and walked some markets and towns. Up the coast from Puerto Vallarta, north of Bucerias is very nice, less touristy, superb beaches, and very authentic. Also reasonably priced considering he paid the toll road.
