Puerto Vallarta Archaeology Tours

Megan was our tour guide and she was fantastic. We went early and got to experience the sites without the crowds. Highly recommend!

Carmen our tour guide was very informative taking us through a breezy ride at the Malecon boardwalk all the way to Romantic Zone passing by at Puerto Vallarta’s old historical church, Our Lady of Guadalupe. Going back we took the river side passing by Elizabeth Taylor’s old house, market place and cycled our way up to the light house for an amazing view of the city. Such a wonderful experience on our first day exploring Puerto Vallarta by bike and Carmen was a very friendly and cool guide.

Travel from the heart of Puerta Vallarta into the nearby hills, following the coastal road as you make your way to the Puerta Vallarta Botanical Gardens...a must see! the gardens are incredible with so much to see. Our host Jimmy was wonderful, knowledgeable and made our time in the gardens very enjoyable. While at the gardens I highly recommend that you end your visit with lunch and a cold drink at the Hacienda de Oro Restaurant & Bar on the grounds of the gardens...the food was absolutely amazing...ask for a table on the patio overlooking the river valley and surrounding mountains. The food was was wonderful, the maragrita of the day was one of a kind and the coconut cake is the best I have every had!

We were fortunate to have the best tour guide and it was just our party of 4 people. Got to see so much and learn so much too. Restaurant was amazing there!

Our knowledgeable guide made the experience so much more than a simple botanical garden tour! We met downtown where our guide gave a little tutorial on using the public bus system before we boarded one of those public buses for our trip to the gardens. Along the way, he spoke a bit on the history of the gardens and what we could expect to see. It was a pleasant walk through various plant habitats. We booked the half-day tour and joined our guide and the other tourists for lunch at the restaurant within the botanical gardens, some of whom were continuing the tour after lunch.

Our tour guide, Megan, was amazing! She was very knowledgeable of the art and history of the area. We booked a morning tour so the area wasn’t too busy and we could bike around freely. It was so fun, and one of the highlights of our trip!

My 1/2 day tour of the botanical garden was so much more than I expected. The garden is huge but very well organized. You will see flowers and plants that you’ve never seen beautifully displayed. However, what makes the trip special is the guide. Jimmy was so engaging from the bus ride to the garden to the end of the tour when he gave me several options for continuing my time there. He shared information about the gardens, Puerto Vallarta, and the history of the region that was fascinating. I had considered wandering the garden without a guide but doing the tour with an experienced guide was such an enriching experience!

This private bicycle tour was one of the highlights of our trip to Puerto Vallarta. Megan was an awesome guide—friendly, knowledgeable, and very accommodating. We especially loved riding along the Malecón and being able to stop whenever something caught our interest to enjoy the sights, take photos, and soak everything in. Because it was a private tour, we could go at our own pace and never felt rushed. It truly felt more like exploring the city with a local friend than being on a structured tour. I would absolutely recommend this experience to anyone visiting Puerto Vallarta.

Aside than the bike i was first given was so big on me and handed an older bike where it was heavy, we had a great experience still. Meagan was awesome and super friendly!

Jimmy was an excellent tour guide. He gave me interesting historical aspects of the community. He was very informed in describing various plants and flowers during the tour. I highly recommend him.

This was a very interesting tour. Jimmy was a great guide and was very knowledgeable about the gardens, as well as Mexican history and the local area. I really enjoyed seeing all the beautiful flowers and the great variety of colorful birds (including hummingbirds and a peacock). If you have time, eat at the restaurant and walk down to the river. I definitely recommend it.

The gardens are beautiful. The restaurant has an amazing view to match the amazing food ! Our server was outstanding.

Jimmy was great; very nice, very knowledgeable. He knew a lot about the history of the area and had an excellent way to draw you into the stories. He didn't know as much about the flowers and plants as I was expecting but was very open about that from the beginning and would regularly check his guide notes to make sure he didn't miss anything. It was very informative and much better than wandering through without a guide. Thanks so much Jimmy!
