Michael was an amazing educated guide who helped us to find rare and remarkable birds, including the Mexican hermit hummingbird. He was a trained knowledgeable about birds, Whales dolphins, and is a native of the area. This is not the exact tour we went on, but it’s the closest I could find.

I can’t say enough positive things about Curiel. He’s the owner of this business and currently is the only guide. We did the Mismaloya Waterfall hike on our first day of our trip and it was the highlight of my week. I went during the rainy season which I’m a fan of the jungle. Just prepare for the humidity and heat. So a lot of water and electrolytes as it’s not an easy short hike but I was well aware of that. Curiel brought snacks, electrolytes to share, took us to a small local restaurant in the mountains before a hike for some of the best birria I have ever had. The breakfast was paid for by Curiel. He took on the hike with just my wife and I with 1 day notice. So he happened to be open the day I was available and made an amazing adventure. Curiel is very knowledgeable about the plants, birds, and wildlife in general. He also has an amazing personality and is very friendly and outgoing. I will definitely only be booking with Curiel for my future hikes.

Michael was AMAZING - he has such incredible knowledge of the birds and trees in the area and we had such a fabulous time spotting nearly 50 types of birds! We're fairly new to birding and this was such a special experience that has fueled us wanting to do birding more frequently. We also really appreciate that this company is truly eco friendly and ensures that nature and wildlife are protected on the types tpurs.Highly recommend this tour and EcoTours!

Booked the tour online and received prompt confirmation of the tour and agreed upon pickup location. Our tour guide Alejandro was on time and we set off after introductions. He told us that he would break the drive to San Sebastián del Oeste up with some stops in between. Our first stop was in Las Palmas where we were able to walk around and experience the town on a Sunday morning. It was a good stop and seeing the town was very nice. Our next stop was at a bakery where we got drinks and baked goods. This also provided a great viewing location of the bridge and the mountains. The baked good were awesome and I highly recommend the empanada filled with beef and cheese.Our next stop was at a distillery where we learned how agave is made into liquor. The owner (also named Alejandro) was excellent and fun. We sampled several of their products. We spent time in San Sebastián exploring the town, shops, and restaurants. All were wonderful and a lot of fun.We returned to Puerto Vallarta where all three of us on the tour commented about how much we enjoyed it. Alejandro is delightful to talk to and has a wealth of knowledge about local customs, plants, foods, etc. He was well prepared with an ice chest of cold beverages, bug spray, and everything we needed.I would definitely book another tour with Luna Tours and Alejandro!

I had the pleasure of spending about 5 hours on the farm with Laura and Hector (The protector :). Each staff member was so attentive and helpful; the experience was like being with family. The time spent was particularly special for me because it mirrors, to a very large extent, my upbringing on a rural arm in Jamaica. The real beauty was in the ease and enjoyment of relating, learning and sharing with the staff. I would have absolutely no hesitation in recommending that, if you are in the area, this is a must-visit experience.Also, ask Laura about their coffee production village, and be sure to buy a large bag of coffee, processed the old-fashioned way. Cheers!!!

From the start, his warm hospitality and attentiveness kept us comfortable and refreshed with cold drinks.He built the perfect itinerary. We loved stopping for incredible cinnamon rolls and mushroom cheese sandwiches at the bridge panadería, followed by a fantastic visit to the local distillery. San Sebastian is a charming town, but Alejandro’s passionate storytelling and deep knowledge of its history made the trip truly unforgettable. We highly recommend booking with him!

If you’re in or passing through Puerto Vallarta and even remotely considering a photo session, just do it. You will not regret it!As our crew has grown, it’s harder to have everyone all in the same place at the same time. Since we had all flown in from different parts of the country to take a cruise together, I figured this was our chance to get photos - and what better backdrops than the beautiful beaches and city center?!Star helped me coordinate our session for the morning our ship was in port. What I did NOT plan for was a time zone mix-up! We were scheduled to be in port at 7 am - but didn’t know that was ship time - Puerto Vallarta was an hour ahead! By the time we got on land and had cell service, we were already an hour late to our session.Star was incredible about it! She communicated right away, helped us pivot immediately, and we headed to the beach to make the most of the time we had left. No stress, no attitude - just someone who clearly loves what she does and wanted us to walk away happy. When we finally arrived, she wasn’t frantic or upset - she helped us all get comfortable and didn’t let the stressful start ruin the fun.And somehow, even with the time mix up, she got EVERYTHING. The full group, just the kids, the couples, parents with each of the children - all of the combinations I had hoped for. She has a natural way of making people feel comfortable right from the start, which matters so much when you’re wrangling a big group.The photos are stunning! Anyone who has taken group photos knows the struggle - someone is always blinking or looking away lol But Star captured so many great shots - genuinely love every single one!Star communicated beautifully before, during, and after the whole process. I only wish we lived closer, because we will absolutely book her again the next time we’re in Puerto Vallarta.JUST DO IT! If you’re on a debating whether to splurge on a professional session while in Puerto Vallarta - do it! You have everyone together, you’re in a beautiful place, and of course the candids from the trip are great, but having photos of your entire crew is truly priceless. Thanks again, Star!!
